![]() ![]() Ultimately, QSA strives to create an accepting and united community. Through these functions, QSA hopes to further grow as a community leader and to empower others. Queer Straight Alliance (QSA) functions to provide a safe and inclusive environment at UC Berkeley, to educate and raise public awareness about diverse issues surrounding the LGBTQQIA and Berkeley through multiple perspectives, to fight discrimination, harassment, and violence on campus through educational public events, and to reach out to those outside of UC Berkeley. Chavez Student Center (the north end of Lower Sproul Plaza on the second floor of Cesar E. It is open 9am-5pm, Monday-Fri at 202 Cesar E. GenEq is the campus location where students, faculty, staff and alumni connect for resources, services, education and leadership programs related to gender and sexuality. The Gender Equity Resource Center, fondly referred to as GenEq, is a UC Berkeley campus community center committed to fostering an inclusive Cal experience for all. We use those funds to replenish safe sex supplies, purchase office supplies for the space, maintain magazine subscriptions, and most importantly, provide an extra avenue of funding for other queer programming. As the oldest Queer organization on campus, we receive the largest amount of funding amongst queer groups. While we are no longer holding general meetings, we do provide fun and educational programs and events. QARC (Queer Alliance and Resource Center), currently located at Hearst Field Annex A15, works to maintain this room as both a safe space to all Cal students, and as a useful resource to the student groups who use the space.
